It will only be thru Education that will be able to change to attitude of those who have been the wrong information about dingoes. They are not a complicated animal. They are guided by their instincts that have been formed over 1000's of years. They do not kill for the thrill like wild dogs do. Scientists have already proven in their research what dingoes rely on for food, so the scare tactics voiced by some livestock groups is not a true statement of the dingoes behaviour.
ReplyDeleteSadly the dingoes are supposed to be protected on Fraser Island; rangers killing them because of tourist’s interaction are NOT protecting them? This isn't what we would expect rangers to be doing killing rather than educating tourist to better protects these rare unique dingoes. No other dingoes in Australia are like the Fraser Island dingoes they are unique and are important rare Australian fauna to be preserved for future generations and Australian heritage.. .Fraser Island should be delisted as a world heritage Island. That title is now a joke, and nothing like Norfolk Island also world heritage listed, which has controlled tourist numbers visiting. Questions and more questions as to why this travesty called Fraser Island is allowed to continue with no control on the unsupervised huge amount of undisciplined tourists who use the Island a booze up party place with no respect for the fauna and flora.
ReplyDeleteLets eradicate the real menace from Fraser Island and move all of the people off and never let them back on. then the dingo numbers would balance out in a natural way
